Haul Out Hunger Helps Families in Need

Parents in financial need face even more difficulty providing complete and nutritious meals to their children during summer months when school lunch programs are not available. “Haul Out Hunger” continues the long-standing efforts of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation to support local food pantries while highlighting and building awareness of food insecurity issues in Iowa.

Haul Out Hunger is our flagship program that continues the long-standing efforts of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation to support local food pantries while highlighting and building awareness of food insecurity issues in Iowa.

Throughout the “Haul Out Hunger” program period in June and July, Iowa Select Farms employees travel more than 3,500 miles to deliver 32 tons of pork. The effort restocks refrigerators and freezers in 130 food pantries and community shelves located in nearly 75 Iowa communities.

In 2024, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation will be donating ground pork to food pantries, county food banks, community pantries and shelves, and organizations working to relieve hunger.

We're proud to be farmers, and also be able to give our power-packed protein back to Iowa families.
