Onto Cherokee to deliver 10 Law Enforcement Comfort Kits!

"We are so grateful to be a part of this great program," said Cherokee County Iowa Sheriff's Office Derek Scott. "These kits will bring comfort to children during a difficult time. When a child receives a kit it will have a long lasting positive memory that the child will remember."

A program of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, Henry’s Heroes Comfort Kits are filled with items like blankets, tissues, games, stuffed animals, pacifiers and chapstick. They serve as additional tool for law enforcement in their diverse policing responsibilities.

"We could have used these recently on a domestic assault situation where children were present," continued Sheriff Scott. "Oftentimes, when officers arrive it can be a really traumatic experience to any child. We will use these kits to make these experiences a little less traumatic. We truly appreciate this gesture more than words can describe."
