Congratulations to Sara Qualley on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leader Scholarship!
Sara is a graduate of Iowa Falls-Alden High School and is pursuing a degree in Digital Journalism at the University of Northern Iowa.
“I decided to pursue a career in the journalism field while interning as a reporter at the Times Citizen newspaper in Iowa Falls. My internship allowed me to meet and interview people from a variety of backgrounds and help share their stories. I loved these opportunities so much that I decided I wanted to major in journalism,” explained Sara. “I'd like to be a reporter for a Midwest newspaper. I've lived in Iowa my whole life, and I'd like to remain in the Midwest to advocate for it and continue telling the stories of the people who live here.”
Sara is the daughter of Brian and Mary Qualley of Iowa Falls, Iowa. Brian is the GTC Supervisor for Iowa Select Farms. Sara shares that “Iowa Select is a great company because it values its employees, their families, and community members. Employees have opportunities to spend days with their families at Adventureland and the Iowa State Fair, and Iowa Select gives back to communities through programs like Haul Out Hunger.”
