My 4-year-old daughter loves to go visit this library; she spends a lot of time with friends her age there playing games and reading,” says Lynda Garza, an employee of Iowa Select Farms. “They pay a lot of attention to the families they serve and build their library’s resources around needs.”
Lynda nominated the Ellsworth Public Library for a STEM Cart, a project offered by the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation through the Henry’s Heroes program. Today, nearly 50 STEM carts have been delivered to community libraries across the state.
The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation believes hometown libraries are the heart of Iowa communities. They provide a safe, trusted, welcoming environment for kids of all ages to feel like they can come to grow and learn.
