Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, 356 students in the Emmetsburg School District will receive Power Snack deli ham and whole wheat bread coupon booklets. Along with delicious and easy recipe ideas, the Protein Power! coupon booklets include a $5 coupon for deli ham and $3 coupon for whole wheat bread--the resources children need to make twelve nutritious ham sandwiches.
In total, the Power Snack coupons + 400 Pork Sticks donated to Emmetsburg Community Schools and Emmetsburg Catholic School will provide at-risk students with 17,088 meals.
Power Snack coupons are typically distributed prior to extended weekends or holiday breaks when children go without critical breakfast, lunch and snack meal programs.
