Creston has several food pantries, and they all work together to help families in need across the county. According to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap study, there are 1,640 people in Union county who are food insecure, which is why faith-based organizations like First Presbyterian help identify those families and work with other local pantries to ensure everyone receives a good meal. “There is such a need here, and we all work together and do the best we can,” said volunteer Jennifer Walsh, who’s family also showed up to help unload the pork loins off the truck.
