First stop for the pork loin donation deliveries!

posted on Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Meet Troy McBroom, coordinator of Decatur County Outreach in Leon, Iowa. In this position for 13 years, Troy has been a consistent, friendly face for our pork loin delivery team. “Meat is expensive, and a lot of times it’s not a part of their diet because of the cost, so this donation of ten cases is huge for our families here,” said Troy. At Decatur County Outreach, families come in on a need-by-need basis, ranging from 8-12 local families a month, and up to 15 families in t...he summer months. “Mostly larger families, with 2-4 kids,” said Troy. “We normally have to purchase meat for our pantry, which is why donations such as these are so appreciated.” The pantry is entirely supported by local donations from the communities including the ministerial alliances/churches. Keep up the great work, Troy! Like our page to keep following our donation route and meet these outstanding individuals ‪#‎everyonedeservesagoodmeal‬ ‪#‎billionpounds‬
