Another friendly face over the years has been Ruby Stevens, a volunteer for the United Church of Christ Congregational Church’s food pantry in Creston. And we feel right at home with Ruby as she grew up raising hogs and cattle with her husband. A volunteer at the pantry for 35 years, Ruby says the pantry serves 175 families and also provides a community meal every Tuesday evening. Her pantry also supports four area pantries and the 20 cases we delivered will be distributed amongst them and the loins will also be prepared and served at the community meals.
