Future Ag Leaders Scholarship 2017-18 Recipient: Cole Lantz

Congratulations to Cole Lantz on your Iowa Select Farms Future Ag Leaders Scholarship! Cole is a 2016 graduate of Webster City High School and is applying his grant to his Conservation Technologies studies at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. Cole is a part-time employee of Iowa Select Farms at Fonken Sow Farm (Sow 26) and the son of Crystal Lantz, farrowing department head at the same farm.

Cole says he is interested in conservation because he enjoys working outdoors and wants to maintain and enhance hunting and fishing opportunities in Iowa. Coursework for this year includes fire management and parks planning and maintenance. Cole also hopes to become a commercial beekeeper.

He believes Iowa Select Farm is a great place to work and is especially appreciative of the many extra benefits provided to employees such as the Iowa State Fair and Adventureland family days.

Cole’s mom, Crystal, has been with Iowa Select Farms for ten years.

Manny Batista has been a Breeding Specialist with Iowa Select Farms since 2010. Reuben says Manny's attention to detail and expertise contributed significantly to the team.
