Iowa Select Farms has committed a total of $60,000 for the 2017-2018 school year to the funding of its newly established Future Ag Leaders Scholarship Program. The grants were awarded to 38 applicants.

This scholarship program and other opportunities for students provided by Iowa Select Farms help support and further the organization’s commitment to their employees and contractors and their families, and to developing the next generation of leaders. While ag degrees are the target criteria, we awarded several scholarships in other areas of study.

Throughout September and October, we'll be introducing you to our scholarship recipients one at a time. First up...Miss Courtney Paysen!

Courtney, a 2017 graduate of the East Sac County School District, is studying Athletic Training at Iowa State University. She is the daughter of Jayson and the late Lisa Paysen of Wall Lake.

Very active in high school sports and other activities, Courtney says she learned commitment and time management through extracurricular activities. “Volleyball, dance team and track have taught me the positives of being on a team and being active in my community.

“I enjoy participating in these activities because I not only get to do the activities I love but I also get to positively impact people around me.”

Courtney says she really enjoys her dad’s association with Iowa Select Farms because of all the opportunities the company takes to give back to employees and their families. Courtney's father, Jason, is a finishing supervisor for Iowa Select Farms.
