Dylan

“I have been able to experience the progression of Iowa Select Farms throughout the years as they have become an industry leader,” says Dylan, a Future Ag Leader Scholarship recipient. “My family has been with the company for over 26 years.” Dylan’s dad, Allan, is a manager at Sow 117. His brother works at the same farm, while his mom, Tiffany, is a member of the production well-being team as an onboarding trainer. The family lives in Alden.

“My parents and Iowa Select Farms have helped instill many character traits that I will utilize within my chosen career.” Hard work, drive and quality care have served them and their employees well. Dylan has also learned about teamwork, time management and animal husbandry throughout his part time work at Sow 117. He is currently pursuing a degree from Iowa Lakes Community College in Farm Equipment and Diesel Technologies. He hopes to someday service the equipment that is specialized for agriculture, turf and light construction.

Along with his experience with Iowa Select Farms, Dylan has also worked with other family members to learn about crop farming, livestock and equipment. These experiences helped influence his desire to pursue his field of study.

As an active member in FFA, Dylan hopes to continue his participation with the organization by volunteering to mentor and teach students about animals. “I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with others so that they may be successful.”

Best of luck in all of your future goals, Dylan!
