Keith Celebrates 15 Years at Iowa Select Farms

Between the rows of budding corn stands the director of nutrient management and compliance, Keith, who is celebrating 15 outstanding years of working for Iowa Select Farms!

Overseeing all environmental compliance, including the Manure Management Plan for all farms, manure application on farms, working with government regulatory bodies and managing a team of eight people is no small task. Keith is always up for the challenge.
“

My job is so interesting, no day is ever the same,” said Keith. “I really enjoy the great team I am lucky enough to have working with me.”

Starting out in 2006 as the assistant environmental compliance officer, Keith has seen many changes over the years, “I’ve seen Iowa Select Farms grow not only in size but in culture. One thing that has always remained constant though is striving to do the right thing, especially when it comes to the environment.”

Keith and his team continue to work every day to make the environment in our Homegrown Iowa communities the best it can be.

In 2012, Keith was promoted to environmental compliance officer until 2017 when he moved into the role of director of nutrient management and compliance.

Looking back on his time, Keith has advice for someone just starting out at Iowa Select Farms, “Show up each day ready to work hard, but always make time for your family and yourself.”

Woodworking, camping, traveling and spending time with friends and family are just a few of the things Keith enjoys outside of work.

While Keith has his loving wife and two German Shepherds at home, as well as several nieces and nephews, he says he’s always felt like he had a work family too, “Jeff and Deb Hansen have always treated me very well. The family-oriented atmosphere within Iowa Select Farms has kept me here.”
