My Hero Program Honors Korean War Veterans

We were honored to be with the members of the Korean War Veterans Association Iowa Chapter 99 Korean War Association of Iowa to recognize veterans through the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation’s My Veteran Hero program. Seen by many as the first fight against communism, over 85,000 Iowans served in the Korean War between 1951 and 1953 following North Korea’s invasion of the southern part of the peninsula. Today, there are 16 remaining members of the Korean War Association.

Thanks to President Jake Chapman for the warm welcome and hospitality. We later found Mr. Chapman featured in the Korean War display of the Gold Star Museum.
