Throughout the upcoming school year, 400 students within the South Central Calhoun Community School District will receive Power Snack coupon booklets four different times throughout the school year, for a total of 1,600 coupons. Inside, students will find a $5 coupon for deli ham and a $3 coupon for a loaf of whole wheat bread. The coupons can be used at most local grocery and convenience stores.
“These coupons are incredibly important to our students, especially over long weekends and holiday breaks,” said Beth McCarter, the Eligibility Determining Official for South Central Calhoun Community School District. “Our families are so grateful for these coupons; they really make a difference in putting food on the table.”
Additionally, we left 200 pork snack sticks with the school to provide immediate hunger relief, allowing students to focus on their learning in the classroom.
