Partnering with Local 4-H Club to Fight Hunger

posted on Monday, December 27, 2021

The Wall Lake Bandits-Viola Visions 4-H Club made a huge impact on the lives of 50 local families. This inspiring mission was accomplished with the help of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation’s Ignite the Spirit program that’s offered alongside Operation Christmas Meal to fight food insecurity in Iowa.

The 4-H members created Christmas dinner baskets for people in need within their community. The baskets were complete with potatoes, stuffing, fresh fruit, beans, gravy, canned vegetables, bread and dessert mixes and, of course, an amazing Iowa Select Farms pork loin. They partnered with the Wheatland Fund pantry to deliver the baskets to families that needed them in Sac County.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation.

“Thank you so much Iowa Select and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation for your generosity,” said Sac County Youth Coordinator, Steph Erpelding.

The Wall Lake Bandits-Viola Visions 4-H Club is one of almost 50 student-based organizations that applied for the Ignite the Spirit program offered by Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation.

Way to go 4-Her’s!
