Sacrifice, courage and bravery are just a few words that come to mind when you think of the Iowans who step up to serve their country.
We at Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation are proud to support the men and women who selflessly give to protect our country.
To show our gratitude, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation provides Pork Care Packages to our Iowa service members every year. We hope the meals allow them to share some time around the table with the ones they love.
Over the past five years, we have delivered nearly $500,000 annually in Pork Care Packages to every one of the 12,000 members of Iowa’s military units. Each package includes $40 worth of coupons good for ham, bacon, ground pork, ribs and fresh pork, regardless of brand or cut. This year, they included a family activity pack, meal planner and pork recipes cards along with the coupons.
We were happy to recently deliver the Pork Care Packages to all units of the Iowa National Guard, 132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard; 185th Air Refueling Wing, Iowa Air National Guard; U.S. Army Reserves; U.S. Navy Reserves; and U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. We also delivered Pork Care Packages to the Iowa National Guard’s Survivor Outreach Services for 600 Iowa families of fallen soldiers.
