“The Power Snack coupons allow our school district an option to provide students who don’t have enough at home to have a healthy meal and snack available,” said Kirsten Doebel, District Administrator at Fort Dodge Community School District.

Many students and families in the Fort Dodge Community School District will get a pleasant surprise as coupons for deli ham and whole wheat bread are sent home the rest of the school year.

A total of 400 Power Snack coupons will be distributed, accounting for 400 pounds of deli ham and 400 loaves of whole wheat bread to help power students through their days in and out of school. The coupon booklets also contain various recipes and ideas on how to get creative with the deli ham rather than just a sandwich.

Along with the Power Snack coupons, 200 pork snack sticks were delivered to Fort Dodge to help relieve immediate hunger in the classroom. Teachers keep the boxes of pork sticks in their desks to pass out to students whenever they see a need. The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation hopes these coupons and pork sticks give students the nutrients and energy needed to feel ready to take on their day!
