Our families use the PowerSnack program to help supplement their meals at home,” said Barb Lange, Principal at Storm Lake Elementary School. “We hear very positive comments from parents, and they are thankful for the assistance.”

Healthy meals at home are difficult to provide right now with the rising cost of living. Grocery store aisles can be an intimidating place for many, and the PowerSnack program was built to help relieve some of that intimidation.

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation believes all Iowans deserve to purchase healthy and nutritious protein at the grocery store. The PowerSnack coupons provide $8 for shaved or sliced ham and $3 for whole wheat bread. 3,200 of these coupons were delivered to Storm Lake Elementary today, and we hope this allows many families the ability to fill their carts with nutritious protein during their next trip to the store.

A lot of students come to school looking forward to receiving a balanced meal, and this can cause a lot of worry and discomfort during weekends and extended breaks. The PowerSnack coupons supply the perfect fix to supply a healthy meal and snack during those times.
