A lot of students rely on their time at school to receive a healthy and balanced meals. Although many students look forward to weekends and extended breaks from school, there are also many who look forward to coming back to school. The PowerSnack program provides a way for students to enjoy their breaks from school without worrying about where their next meal will come from.
Sioux Central Elementary received 400 PowerSnack coupons today, each supplying $8 for deli ham and $3 for whole wheat bread. In total, these coupons will account for over 4,000 healthy and nutritious snacks. We are honored to provide this comfort and support to many students and families in need.
The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation feels passionately about supporting Iowans and supplying a healthy protein that is full of nutrients that support growth, development and cognitive learning for young children. The PowerSnack program is very dear to our hearts, and we look forward to the number of students and families these coupons will impact.
