Power Snack Day 1 Stats

And just like that, we’re headed home after a big (okay, huuuuuge) first day of Power Snack deliveries. We had high hopes for the day and boy, it did not disappoint.

All in all, our small but mighty team:

- Traveled 288 miles throughout southern Iowa
- Delivered 11,000 Power Snack coupon booklets
- Unloaded 2,800 protein-packed Pork Sticks
- Supplied kids in need with supplies for wholesome 132,000 meals

The deli ham and whole wheat bread coupons donated today can be redeemed at any local grocery store or market. Pro tip—the same goes for anyone in the “deep south” who may head to Missouri for groceries. The coupons will work there, too!

And while we love our scenic trips through the rolling hills of southern Iowa (especially on days like today when the fields are sprinkled with combines and cattle) what we really love are the people we get to interact with along the way. We aim to give with joy at the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms and its safe to say the teachers, principals and superintendents we met with today are some of the most joyful folks around. We’re all in the fight against childhood hunger together, and we are so appreciative of the hard-working folks we partner with in our Homegrown Iowa communities.

We’re taking tomorrow off to gear up for Wednesday’s deliveries. Stay tuned to see where the Super Snacker is headed next!
