Sow 15 Celebrating the Small Wins

Sending some encouragement to the hard-working and persistent Jernquist Sow 15 crew—Louis, Bailey, Belkis, Jessica, Terry, Aaron, Jhosimar, Eyser, Walker, Aberzabit (Chava), Michael and Victor—who are celebrating improved production numbers, like 16 Total Born and 14 Born Alive, and weaning more than 30,000 pigs in Q4.

Since breaking with PRRS early in 2019, it's been an uphill climb for the crew, who have also battled staffing issues and an older herd. But now, nearly fully staffed and with big strides in parity correction, the farm is refusing to look anywhere but up.

"We've got a great team put together and it's fun to watch them improve every single week," said Louis, the farm's enthusiastic manager. "We've definitely experienced some twists and turns this year, but things are really starting to look up and we're making sure to celebrate the little things any chance we get."

Way to go, Sow 15! Keep up the great work.
