U.S. Army Reserves Recieves 750 Pork Care Packages

The soldiers at the U.S Army Reserves are currently deployed, but that didn’t stop us from delivering Pork Care Packages to be picked up by their families.
Last month, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation delivered 750 Pork Care Packages to the U.S. Army Reserves. The coupons are good for $10 worth of ham, $10 worth of fresh pork, $10 worth of ribs and $5 worth of bacon—enough to plan for several hearty meals.
“It's a great and wonderful thing the folks at Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation do for our soldiers,” said Sheryl King, family readiness coordinator with the U.S. Army Reserves. “Everyone always looks forward to the care packages.” Sheryl said that although their soldiers are currently deployed, she would ensure all families received a care package.
In addition to the delivery to the US Army Reserves, nearly 12,000 of our local Warriors serving in the Iowa National Guard;132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard; 185th Air Refueling Wing, Iowa Air National Guard; US Army Reserves, and US Marine Corp Reserves brought home a Pork Care Package from the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms.
As pork producers, we know the power of food in bringing people together and creating memories. Even though their loved ones are deployed, we hope they are able to make memories together around the dinner table.
